Almost 200 walkers joined St. Luke’s Hospice on Sunday 5th October for its much-loved sponsored walk, the St. Luke’s Loop.

Starting from the charity’s Basildon hospice, walkers chose between two scenic routes; a 7.3-mile route or a 3-mile route, Little Luke’s Loop. Both routes looped to take in the scenic views of Langdon Hills Country Park, rambling through the flower-rich grasslands and ancient woodlands, before finishing back at the Basildon Hospice.

Many of those who walked chose to take part and raise money for the Hospice in memory of loved ones; decorating bibs and joining family, friends and colleagues for the challenge.

Kerry Chambers, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at St. Luke’s Hospice, said: “It was heartwarming to see so many people come together - families, friends, colleagues, and even their furry companions - to celebrate loved ones and support our Hospice. The atmosphere was uplifting, and every step taken will make a real difference to our charity and the care we can provide.”

All funds raised from St. Luke’s Loop will help St. Luke’s Hospice to ensure the ongoing provision of specialist, compassionate palliative and end of life care, where and when it is most needed.

The St. Luke’s Loop is sponsored by Bennetts Funeral Directors and S Carter & Son Funeral Directors.
