St. Luke’s Hospice has joined a powerful nationwide campaign to encourage local people to consider leaving a gift to the Hospice in their Will.

The charity is teaming up with hospices across the UK as part of ‘This is Hospice Care’ - an initiative led by Hospice UK to raise awareness about the vital role hospices play in communities, shift public perceptions of hospice care and encourage people to explore legacy giving to ensure this care lives on.

The campaign, which launches today (Monday 17th February), includes a powerful TV advert based on real-life hospice stories. It highlights the impact of what a gift in someone’s Will can have on people, their families and loved ones who rely on their local hospice, ensuring that these essential services can continue to provide compassionate and specialist care for future generations

All the services provided by St. Luke’s Hospice are free. The charity cares for people with life limiting, palliative and end of life care needs, and offers a range of support to family, friends and loved of those living with a life limiting illness and those who have experienced a bereavement. Care is provided at its two hospice sites, in Basildon and Thurrock, as well as out in the community at a person’s place of residence.

Sarah Seiffert, Legacy and In Memory Lead at St. Luke’s Hospice, said: “As a registered charity, we rely on generous donations to continue providing care and support to people in our community. Leaving a gift in your will is a powerful way to create a lasting legacy, ensuring we will continue to be here for the next generation of local people and their families.”
